Our experience with Overspaern Makelaardij B.V. was deeply disappointing and has left lasting bad blood. We were explicitly informed that our offer had been accepted. Based on that confirmation, we stopped pursuing other properties and proceeded in good faith, believing an agreement had been reached. However, we later learned that additional offers were still being received and opened. When a higher bid appeared, we were informed — with a brief apology — that our offer was in fact no longer accepted. Confirming acceptance of an offer is not a minor detail; it carries significant practical and emotional consequences in an already highly competitive housing market. Reversing that confirmation because a better offer comes in creates avoidable bad blood and undermines trust in the entire process. This experience raises serious questions about professional integrity and standards. Real estate transactions require transparency, reliability, and clear communication — especially when people are making life-changing financial decisions. Unfortunately, this was not our experience. Prospective clients should be fully aware of how such situations may be handled before choosing to engage.

Makelaar Kim van Straten heeft meegedacht en advies gegeven wat er zou moeten worden aangepast in de woning om meer kijkers te bereiken. Heb haar advies ter harte genomen en wat geld en energie geïnvesteerd maar het resultaat was er ook naar en dat ondanks dat het vakantietijd was. Super veel geïnteresseerden bereikt en snel verkocht. Heel erg bedankt Kim voor je inzet en deskundigheid.

Zeer open en toegankelijk, zelfs op drukke dagen maakt Floris toch nog even tijd voor je. Ik heb met hem mijn case besproken en hij is er over gaan nadenken en komt dan met verrassend goede ideeën en schrijft er ook af en toe nog een interessante blog over. Hij heeft mij persoonlijk veel duidelijkheid verschaft en werk uit handen genomen !

I had a very nice experience with Kim van Starten who was helping me find an apartment when I moved to the Netherlands. She has been very dedicated and professional and managed to find a place that fits all my criteria and within arranged time period even in a challenging situation of house shortage in the NL. We were relocating as a family to the Netherlands in December 2022 and were to rent an apartment close to my new job in Haarlem. My company recommended to contact VK Makelaars agency, as they've helped a few of my colleagues in the past. It proved to be the best choice because within 2 months, we finally found an apartment that suits us as a family but is also well connected to Haarlem and is within our budget. During the search, we worked closely with Kim van Straten, and she would act swifly on all the apartment ads that we would share. Unfortunately, due to the high demand, a lot of the landlords don't respond but for the ones who did, she made sure to pass our information correctly, organise viewing, send us photos and videos and all information we need in order to make a decision. She was there for all our questions, very patient and available even in the evenings and over the holidays! There were moments when we thought we won't find anything, but she assured us that all will be good and eventually it did! :) We plan to work with Kim and VK Makelaars agency again in the future, if we decide to buy or rent real estate here and would highly recommend working with them.
