I really don’t understand why their rating is so high on Google reviews, most of them seem AI generated too. I got recommended by a friend but unfortunately it wasn’t a great advice; the only thing they did right was introducing me to my makelaar who was an absolute rockstar, but the rest was extremely stressful due to their unprofessionalism and lack of organization. We had a 5 weeks window to get my mortgage approved and my advisor went on holidays 3 weeks, leaving my file to a colleague who couldn’t speak English and didn’t answer emails. They got me a higher mortgage that I didn’t need because we didn’t understand each other (side note: English is not my first language either but I work with it daily since 10 years and everyone seems to understand me just fine?) anyways when I asked if we could lower the amount they said it wasn’t possible anymore (not true). They forced me to cancel my credit card otherwise the bank wasn’t going to issue the mortgage (also not true) and in the end they got me a mortgage at my own bank at the same conditions that my bank would have given me so I completely missed what their “great contribution” was other than a waste of energy, time and money.

ExpatMortgages is worthless. Disorganized, terrible advisors, slow or not responding at all. Do not recommend at all.

just bad Misleading advice, recommend a bank with much higher interests than other banks and telling us this was they only bank that would accept us due to one of us being non-eu and here on a family visa. We heard from several other mortgages brokers afterwards that this is not correct and we could have had a much lower interest from other banks. Probably they just recommended the bank that they get the most commission from or just recommend whatever is easier for them so they don't have to do that much work. Misleading and negligent *** likes to pretend he's helpful. He's not. In fact, his advice is misleading and his handling of our business was negligent. We had to take out a life insurance with Florius as part of our mortgage deal. When we finished paying our mortgage, *** neglected to tell us we needed a special letter to end the life insurance. He then claimed we should have thought of that ourselves, as if we could have known a special, obscure document is required rather than just tell the insurance we no longer need their policy.
